Nominees for 2007 Sports Board/Blog Post of 2007

clipped from nfcsouth.net
Mother Corporate board that is.

Well, I was unusually restless tonite, so I

clipped this post from the mother corporate board to my blogger using this Clipmark add-on that integrates with my blog.  A big time saver. You can even use it with video clips, Facebook and more...post to multiple blogs, e mail etc. Plays nice with my Mozilla Firefox browser.  **tip

Anyway, if you'd like to nominate your own, have at it and have fun.  Panthers, Falcons and Saints fans invited too, even Nascar!  biggrin.gif

The other funny part I guess is that the thread started in August starts out by saying how bad Gruden and the Bucs will suck this year.

2007 Sports Board post of the year

I clipped this from the transsexual, cross dressing corporate board. Not that there is anything wrong with that...but this was really good. Yes, I'm turning lemons into lemonade.

ESPN: Bucs, White, Sapp and Dunn

No, this is not a new law firm.

Warren Sapp Is Generous

Warren Sapp was visited by three ghosts last Sunday, and they all took the form of 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. He was so moved by their messages of "shut the fuck up" and "stop arguing with officials" that he left the game to contemplate his place in life. He returned several days later and announced that he was going to donate $75,000 to the NFL for them to buy Christmas turkeys for poor families and also to help cure Tiny Tim (Dwight).

In other ex-Bucs-now-with-awful-awful-teams news, Warrick Dunn does not want to retire with the taste of the 2007 season in his mouth.

"I can't go out like this," Dunn told the paper. "This is not the way I think anyone should go out. Any guy whose ever thinking about retiring and had to go through a situation like this, I don't think this is the way you should go out. You need to go out on better terms. I'll definitely come back next year and play football."

Mike Singletary is said to be one of the top candidates for the Falcons' head coaching job, meaning that Dunn would be coming back to another rookie head coach, except this one would be a defensive specialist. Wheee!!

Finally, in news that Buc fans have known for months but the national media is just now hearing about, Greg White had a front page piece on ESPN a couple days ago. Turns out people think he's pretty good. Who knew? Oh yeah, WE did. Len Pasquarelli must have lost a bet to write this article because he obviously didn't enjoy it. He takes every opportunity to downplay White's actual talent.

But there are a lot of players in the NFL, many of them with significantly higher profiles and fatter paychecks, who wouldn't mind copying the success of the modestly talented White.

An overnight sensation five years in the making, White ranks among the season's best stories, perhaps the player in the league who has come the closest in 2007 to literally maxing out his talents.

Jeez, Len, it's not like the guy is a one-armed midget or something. He does have some natural physical talent. Oh, and you spelled Jon Gruden's name wrong. Asshat.

Thanks for the nice read,

cheers!

McKay failing as GM...again

McKAY MUST GO

Some Internet hack has set
forth on SporingNews.com the case for Falcons owner Arthur Blank to follow
coach Bobby Petrino's resignation with a

termination of President and G.M. Rich McKay
.

Viewing it all objectively,
it's a no brainer. Someone needs to be accountable for the various and
significant embarrassments that the franchise has experienced in the past
year.

That someone is McKay.

And the passage of time will,
we believe, vindicate the notion that McKay should be removed from his
position. Because we're convinced that, unless he can persuade his
former lieutenants Jerry Angelo and Tim Ruskell to take demotions to come to
Atlanta, the Falcons are going to continue to be uncompetitive.

But, for now, McKay will get
to hire his third head coach. The first one stoopidly ran his mouth
about coaching at his alma mater. The second one had an apparent flaw
of character. Though no one could have spotted the specific outcomes
of the Mora and Petrino eras without a crystal ball, folks who know how to
read people likely would have detected something via the vetting process
that would have stirred up a visceral concern about whether either man was
the right man for the job.

Then again, McKay also thought
it would be wise to give $37 million in guaranteed money to a
one-dimensional quarterback with a sense of entitlement so strong and so
warped that it prompted him to engage in an illegal and inhumane gambling
operation for six years.

Bucs Gruden, not Dungy to join Elite company

TAMPA - Bucs coach Jon Gruden's
name is not always mentioned among the NFL's coaching elite, but his
resume makes a strong case for some well-earned recognition.

If Tampa Bay defeats Atlanta at home on Sunday, the Bucs will clinch
the NFC South. In addition, Gruden will claim his fifth division title
since 2000; he won division crowns in Oakland (2000-01) and Tampa Bay
(2002, 2005).

New England coach Bill Belichick currently has the most success with seven titles since 2000. Philadelphia's Andy Reid, Indianapolis' Tony Dungy, Seattle's Mike Holmgren
and Gruden will be tied at five after this season, assuming Tampa Bay
and Indianapolis win their divisions. The Patriots and Seahawks already
have clinched their respective divisions.

"I would rather win that second Super Bowl," Gruden said. "You want
to qualify for the playoffs, and you want to have a chance to compete
for a championship. I try to keep myself very shallow with these guys.
The pressure and all that stuff, everybody can handle.

"We've just got to take a good look at what we can do to improve,
keep improving and stay on the gas pedal in terms of improving. That's
what I'm most interested in."

Gruden is tied with John McKay (1979, 1981) with two division titles with Tampa Bay. Dungy had one (1999).

Although Gruden is only one victory from another title, his
reflection on the latest accomplishment will not occur until after this
season.

"It's hard to win. There are a lot of teams that have not won a
division title in 10 years, 20 years," Gruden said. "You want to
qualify to win your division and make the playoffs and get a home-field
playoff game. It's a great step getting to the only bowl game in our
business.

"I try not to get too deep or analytical with it. We need to win a
football game, and every game we've won has been hard-fought and
well-contested. We've got to find a way to win one more game."

Thanks Anwar. Who 'd thunk a fellow named Anwar would have a better grasp of what local football fans want to read? Me, that's who. Seems many of the local scribes are more interested in whatever negativity they can spin and spew. We want upbeat and entertaining information. Doh!

Gruden, Gruden Gruden!

By ANWAR S. RICHARDSON, The Tampa Tribune

Published: December 8, 2007

TAMPA - There could have been no greater sign of Tampa Bay's emerging unity than after last week's victory against New Orleans.

The players never gave up despite trailing by three points with less than four minutes remaining. Defensive line pressure forced Reggie Bush's bad toss on a reverse. Coach Jon Gruden showed faith in his players and went for it on fourth-and-1 with two minutes left. Backup quarterback Luke McCown then threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to forgotten tight end Jerramy Stevens to give the Bucs a 27-23 victory.

After the win, players in Tampa Bay's locker room unified for one exhilarating chant:

"Gruden! Gruden! Gruden!"

The show of support was from a group of players that loves their coach for believing in them. It's a group of players that has learned to believe in themselves and trust each other.

And most importantly, it was from, finally, a "team."

"That was awfully nice of those guys and whoever started the chant. It was probably my son," Gruden said. "We have a lot of interest in the same thing and these guys mean a lot to me. I think they know that, but I also expect a lot out of them. I think they were just happy as a staff that we showed confidence in our football team and let them go out there and do the things they are capable of doing.

"It was flattering, but I tried to put a stop to that as soon as possible. It's the players that are getting it done, and it will be the players who get it done if we are going to continue to win."

Tampa Bay's team concept has evolved primarily because of injuries.

Running back Earnest Graham emerged after Cadillac Williams was placed on injured reserve and Michael Pittman suffered a severe ankle injury. Left tackle Donald Penn evolved after Luke Petitgout's injury. Fullback B.J. Askew stepped in for Mike Alstott, who went on injured reserve in the preseason. Cornerback Phillip Buchanon has made 10 starts because of Brian Kelly's injuries. Gaines Adams has adequately replaced Greg Spires at defensive end. Maurice Stovall has become a special teams standout since Torrie Cox was placed on injured reserve. And McCown stepped up when quarterback Jeff Garcia could not play last week.

"With the attitude of Coach Gruden and the coaching staff and the work they put into preparation every single week, and how they come to work and give an all-out effort, for players not to match that in some way would be an extreme letdown - to our coaching staff, to our team and to this city," Garcia said. "I believe that players have been hungry for the opportunity to play ... and they're taking a no-looking-back attitude in a sense that they're trying to make the most of it."

http://www2.tbo.com/content/2007/dec/08/sp-gruden-gruden-gruden/?sports-bucs

A rare positive attitude by the local Tampa Bay area press about the Bucs. Props to Anwar.

Murdoch's Way: Buying pols with book deals!

The halls of Washington and their lobbyists...who's representing you?

According to two former F.C.C. officials, Mr. Murdoch’s chief in-house lobbyist at the time, Preston Padden, confronted Mr. Hundt’s chief of staff at a meeting at a coffee shop near the agency’s headquarters. Mr. Hundt (the F.C.C. chariman at the time) would not be able to “get a job as dog-catcher” if the F.C.C. took away a single News Corporation television license, Mr. Padden warned, they said.

Murdoch Reaches Out for Even More

In the fall of 2003, a piece of Rupert Murdoch’s sprawling media empire was in jeopardy.

Congress was on the verge of limiting any company from owning local television stations that reached more than 35 percent of American homes. Mr. Murdoch’s Fox stations reached nearly 39 percent, meaning he would have to sell some.

A strike force of Mr. Murdoch’s lobbyists joined other media companies in working on the issue. The White House backed the industry, and in a late-night meeting just before Thanksgiving, Congressional leaders agreed to raise the limit — to 39 percent.

One leader of the Congressional movement to limit ownership was Senator Trent Lott, Republican of Mississippi. But in the end, he, too, agreed to the compromise. It turns out he had a business connection to Mr. Murdoch. Months before, HarperCollins, Mr. Murdoch’s publishing house, had signed a $250,000 book deal to publish Mr. Lott’s memoir, “Herding Cats,” records and interviews show.

Bucs vs. Lions preview

Game 7 Preview: Lions
Published: October 19th, 2007
By Bucstats.com weblog

Five Things You Didn't Know About The Lions

1. Lions rookie guard Manny Ramirez is really tired of being asked how he balances his football and baseball careers. But coincidently, he doesn't give a shit how the season turns out, either.
2. Rod Marinelli once wrestled a bear. A real bear, not a furry gay guy. As far as I know. Hey, I'm not here to judge.
3. Shaun Rogers is being sued by a stripper who accuses him of groping her. Isn't that kind of like a waiter suing Rogers for asking for more ketchup?
4. Chris Cooley of the Redskins actually thanked the Lions for giving up in the second half of their game last week. The Lions would have responded to this criticism, but it seemed like too much work.
5. Lions defensive line coach Joe Cullen was arrested in August for "suspicion of indecent and obscene conduct" because he was driving around nude. I'll give you the keywords, and you write your own joke: crankshaft, drive-thru, DUI, Explorer, Matt Millen, spare tire, stick-shift, tailpipe.

Had to post this here; that's pretty funny! Lol

Michael Clayton a Bust for Bucs

Michael Clayton, after a great rookie year in 2004 has steadily declined and officialy can be declared a bust. Presently, his 2 catches for 23 yards has him ranked 200 in the league, and currently 6th on the Bucs squad. Makes you wonder why they cut Chas Gessner and are not playing second year player Maurice Stovall. The Bucs offensive 'guru' has called 3 end arounds for him which netted less than 5 yards. He's painfully slow. Two end arounds to Stovall last year netted 29 yards. Even Mark Jones, the kick returner deserves more time at wide receiver.

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen Hookup

Yes, Tom has gone deep with the Brazilian sex kitten and Victoria Secret supermodel. She is no dumb blonde; reported to be worth $150 million in U.S.D.

Here's a video of the fox working. Drooling on my keyboard.

Okay class, pickup your tongue and notice after you start the video if you click in the lower right of the screen on "menu" you can access a dozen or more videos. This technology was not available a few short months ago.

How would you like to get you hands on some technology to submit your videos to 9 different video sites for free. Go to http://hotshorturl.com/kz84

NO clue about this video making stuff. How would you like to get your hands on $250 worth of video tutorials that will cover everything you need to know about marketing on the internet, for free?
Go to http://hotshorturl.com/kz86
...when you get to there you will also receive a one time offer which is optional but very reasonable. It will step by step show you how to make videos for You Tube from start to finish with software you probably already have on your PC or Mac.
By the way, these are legitmate sites, not scams as I have been very satisfied with their service and use them myself. The choice is yours.

McNabb, black and white

Okay, this is funny. Remember back a couple of years ago when right wing extremist neo-conservative shock jock Rush Limbaugh made some racially insensitive comments. DMac pretty much ignored it, but I suspect he has a resentment. It should be against Limbaugh and his ilk; they preach to the lowest common denominator (LCD) of human kind. Unity of America is not their belief; more like divide and conquer. It's a war concept that is oft used in politics as well. Take A. Coulter, Limbaugh and a few others of the neo conservative tools, shake 'em up and you still got shit. They do not represent America, white or black; green or yellow.
The vast majority of football fans I believe like Donovan McNabb (DMac), so Donovan, please don't use the race card. It was Halfrican American (to quote Limbaugh) Bryant Gumble (who BTW is married to a white) who asked the leading question that was built on a prejudicial premise. Gumble is a tool looking to create a controversial story; that's what media folks like him do.

I was watching a sports channel and James Brown interviewed him and DMac wouldn't back off his stance.

Here's the deal, Donovan. Philly probably cut Garcia loose in part to show their faith in DMac. Many no doubt wish they still had him, esp. with your tendency to get injured. Philly is 0-2 and a very tough demanding sports town. Simple Donovan, you and your team suck right now. Period. End of story. Fix it. You might begin Mr. Campbell soup boy, by backing off your ridiculous assertion. Do it for yourself dude. Or do you think that Michael Vick does not deserve criticism?

NFL , Belichick , and Patriots

The situation with the National Football League is a lot worse than people realize, and the only one who seems to grasp this fully is commissioner Roger Goodell. You don't issue emergency orders backed by threats on Sunday morning of a game day, as Goodell just did regarding the New England Patriots' files of cheating information, unless the situation is a lot worse than people realize.

Belichick as Nixon? Greg Easterbrook spins a compelling story of 'The Patriot Act'
Frankly, he has some good points. If you scroll down, there are some entertaining cheerleader pictures if this is too heavy. Most people would rather stay in Denial.

Also, DJ Gallo, you know him from the Sports Pickle, posted some funny links to pictures on this popular sports site, one of Carolina Panthers QB Carr on sidelines . Actually, it's his comments which are funny, which you see about halfway down from the top of the page. I love this stuff!

Okay, the possibility of Belichic facing stronger actions, including suspension and removal are real, mainly because of his denial and stonewalling like Nixon did!

You can join a discussion on the NFC South.net BBS The preceding link will bring you right to the thread. If you'd like to join in, not just read, you can sign up for free as a member. Tell them New Riders (me) sent you!

Buccaneers sign cornerback

The Bucs have signed CB Sammy Davis and released CB Anthony Madison, according to a news release. The team also released WR Chas Gessner, CB Carlos Hendricks and TE Matt Herian from the Injured Reserve list.

Davis rejoins the Buccaneers after originally signing with the team as a free agent on March 13, 2007. He spent the preseason with the Buccaneers before being released on September 2.

Madison was claimed off waivers on September 2. He was declared inactive in Tampa Bay’s season opener at Seattle.

In other news, WR Boston's run in with the Pinellas Park PD has raised the ire of some of the religious right, Tony Dungy loving, Jon Gruden hating readers over at the St. Pete times web site. That does explain a few things about the lynch mob surrounding Jon Gruden and Bruce Allen. Apparently, no man or player should receive a second chance. I disagree with this judgement. In fact, The Lord's Prayer, the model prayer for all Christian faith provides for forgiveness and second chances. So, some of you readers and writers over at the St Pete Times p[lease lose the holier than thou 'tude. Thank you.

Dr. RonPaul Wins in Maryland

Arizona Sen. John McCain finished fifth in a 2008 presidential straw poll held by the Maryland Republican Party.

Libertarian-leaning, anti-war Texas Congressman Ron Paul was the top candidate in the 11-day straw poll. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani was second in the poll, which asked Republicans to name their choice for 2008 presidential nomination. Former Senator and actor Fred Thompson was third and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney came in fourth.

McCain picked up 54 votes in the straw poll versus 263 for Paul and 230 for Giuliani.

Ron Paul is inspiring people and will win.

Agloco and You

I haven't posted about AGLOCO recently. They have their viewbar with built in search engine ready to download. There are several ways to optimize this opportunity, but as with anything, one needs to take some action. I'll be making a simple video on this soon. AGLOCO principle is to give back so their users a portion of the ad income they develop from search engine optimization. In short, they will pay you for using it up to 5 hours a month . You will go here to sign up AgloCo so you may download the viewbar. If you are reading this now, it's not by accident. It is totally secure and spyware free, so you may as well download it and get paid $15-$20 per month. The program can be downloaded to your desk top and can be turned off after you have logged 5 hours for the month. I'll be talking about another program in the next week or so that pays you as well. What's the catch. Sorry, there is none. Join the web 2.0 revolution; it's already in full geometric progression.AgloCo...download here.

This was the play that the fans and players agreed really showed Chris as a leader.

They call me BJ

In the NFL, the quarterback will have his hands on the football on every play; the fullback, in many offenses, on almost none of them. Yet both players can be vitally important to a team’s attack.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers addressed both positions during a busy opening weekend to the NFL’s 2007 free agency period. On Sunday, the team announced the signing of former New York Jets fullback B.J. Askew, an unrestricted free agent. That follows on the heels of Saturday’s high-profile acquisitions of quarterbacks Jeff Garcia and Jake Plummer.

Askew is the third unrestricted free agent from another team to sign up with the Buccaneers in the opening days of free agency. In addition to Garcia, the Bucs also signed former Denver DE/LB Patrick Chukwurah on Saturday. Tampa Bay’s frenetic front-office work over the weekend has also included the re-signing of fullback Mike Alstott, the trade for quarterback Jake Plummer and the signings of two Buccaneers who briefly became free agents, cornerbacks Phillip Buchanon and Torrie Cox.

The 6-3, 233-pound Askew is a versatile back who did get his hands on the ball quite extensively at Michigan before the Jets drafted him in the third round in 2003. In New York, he developed into a promising lead blocker and a very good special teams player.

Over his four seasons with the New York Jets, Askew carried the ball just 27 times for 102 yards and caught just 12 passes for 73 yards. In his first two NFL seasons, however, Askew helped Curtis Martin rush for 1,308 and 1,697 rushing yards, respectively. He also contributed 68 kick-coverage tackles during that span, the fourth-highest career total in Jets history. In 2004, Askew racked up a remarkable 31 stops on special teams.

Last year, Askew aided a Jets ground attack that averaged 108.6 yards per game and scored 15 touchdowns. He was limited by a foot injury for much of the season, ceding some time to fullback James Hodgins, but he impressed the Jets with his toughness by coming back for the last three regular-season games and the playoffs and contributing significantly. Askew may have taken his toughness to a legendary level during a December game in Green Bay when he came out for warmups without a shirt on despite freezing temperatures.

The 26-year-old back is just entering his prime and could help a Buccaneer rushing attack that slipped to 28th in the league in 2006. He is also a good receiver out of the backfield, another skill he displayed at Michigan.

I expect, as no doubt Gruden does, BJ to serve as bodyguard to Garcia and Williams. In passing downs or blitzes, he'll serve as the 'gatekeeper'; the last defense
before the QB. I also expect(maybe 'hope' is a better word) although he may not start, to see him get more playing time than Alstott. We'd have a more traditional pro set. This is undoubtedly Mike A's last year, and at 26 BJ is in his prime. Still, don't expect to see a lot of run plays from him this year. He's also a very good special teams player.

Paris Hilton, Kasey Kahne and Budweiser

These are words and people not normally lumped together. Paris Hilton was on hand while Kasey Kahne . The Nascar website reports: Last week while doing promotions for California Speedway, Kahne and company hit the clubs, Les Duex in Hollywood to be exact. There, Kahne spotted Hilton and a conversation commenced, but the No. 9 Dodge driver denies any romantic involvement, for now.

"She was there, it was cool, I got to talk to her and meet her -- that was it," he said. "We talked for two or three minutes, she said bye and I walked away."

So who noticed who?

"For me I was [at the] right place at the right time," he said. "I mean, Paris is as big as it gets in celebrities ... and I got to talk to her and meet her -- it was cool for me."

Kahne said the two actually talked about racing.

"She was telling me about her racing experience," he said. "She hasn't done any racing but she was going to do a celebrity race."

Initially, the New York Daily News reported Kahne and Hilton, a celebrity heiress and recent jailbird, shared a more intimate moment.

"The two of them chatted for a while," a source told the Daily News," and before they parted ways for the night, she leaned in and whispered 'God, you're cute,' and kissed him!"

Regardless whether a love connection was made or not, the pop culture power behind the encounter puts NASCAR on a different level.

What you say, Paris Hilton told Kasey Kahne , 'God, you're cute' and kissed him. Ha ha. Anyway Budweiser is talking about a marriage between them and K Kahne. As for Paris, she's working on her 'good girl' image. Hanging around Kasey can't hurt, one of the more likable guys on the NASCAR Nextel Cup circuit.

Red State Update:Edwards still in race

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99jktemS46s

It appears that Edwards is still in the race due to the publics amnesia. This is the same thing that got Bush elected. Can anybody see him in office. Check the You Tube link above for a good laugh!

Only one choice in 2008 can save us.

They call him Dr. No, as in never voted for tax increases. As in 'no', he is not a neo conservative. Yes, he is a doctor, as in M.D. Yes, he does want to protect the constitution. See for yourself if he does espouse true conservative values. He is something completely different . He stands out from the rest of the pack Republicans and Democrats alike. The national controlled media is scared to death of this man, because if he gets elected it will mean the end to their way of life (job). They seek to keep him off the polls, but the groundswell grassroots effort is growing like a snowball rolling downhill. The revolution has started. You must become a part of it!

Carolina Number 2 Sleeper Team

With the removal (release ) of Keyshawn Johnson the Panthers have vaunted to the number 2 sleeper team, in the nfcsouth that is. After finishing out of first in the division let alone the conference, expect the Panthers not to live up to expectations as long Reggie Bush (no relation) is around. With training camps literally days away, expect the hype to increase.

Shoe Nazi says: No more shoes for you, Mike!

Michael Vick will not get the new endorsement deal from Nike. The multinational shoe giant, rumored to pay their employees less than a dollar an hour in their poor countries can't even stomach the charges of Michael Vick being involved in charges of animal abuse stemming from the alleged dog fighting ring on his property in Virginia.
Rather ironic their icon is not worth the millions in endorsements. I always wore U.S made Converse, or 'Cons' as we called them.

Microsoft to show search engine

the money

Microsoft Corp. will share a part of its advertising revenues from its search engine with users, the company's chairman Bill Gates said in a panel discussion on an Indian television channel.

Gates said that search engines like Google Inc. get their revenues from advertising because people use these search engines. "Google's business model is not based on free software," Gates said. "Their business model is based on advertisements from which they make a lot of money."

Full Time Bloggers Make $2000 -$4000 a month

I came across this post surfing yesterday. I have no link for this at present(see title). So if you like posting, blogging, why not make some money while doing it. You can pretty much post about whatever you want. Look, I started blogging at Google Guru's and Internet Marketing Follies
even though I have changed the name of the blog to Google Agloco and Local communities. Back then, I was totally overwhelmed with information overload. I didn't post steadily, in fact dropped off the planet. Anyway, their is a system to it, and November 2005 is light years a way in internet time. Back then, I spent hundreds of USD On software application and other informational products. I was One of those information junkies, I am now in recovery(see crumby picture on left). Doing much better, thank you. If you want to make some money with your PC,
  1. you don't need a website, although I highly recommend it . The one key I've found to prevent information overload is to
  2. keep things together, in one place. Utilize folders wisely.
  3. KISS...keep it simple stupid. At least at the start.
  4. Utilize tools and technology. I purchased OTO Goldmine yesterday from S Raamakant. I've been a reader of his newsletter for a good amount of time. Some of the testimonials on his sales copy page are like the who's who if internet marketing top guns; names like Mike Filsamine and Russell Brunson (a college wrestler and recent college graduate). Look I am no genius, but know a great deal when I see one). Everything, I mean EVERYTHING, every toool to get You to the next level is included. I joined for free then upgraded for less than the cost of a nice solo meal out. Literally, thousands of USD went inot the developement of this software. However, because it's digital, the cost for delivery is cheap; thus you are getting a great deal.
  5. My recommendation; sign up for free at OTO Goldmine
  6. Read the offer carefully, you'll get one shot at it. That's what a one time offer(OTO) is! Put a link in your blog, and you can promote for free to friends and family and your list if you have one. In fact, you can use some free tools to create one.
  7. Get a Wordpress blog. You'll be able to use more coding and have more freedom on a Wordpress blog.
  8. Install the Firefox browser for added security and web 2.0 adaptability(read:many useful extensions). I'll post more on security issues later.

AGLOCO Members Speak Out - Even More

AGLOCO Members Speak Out - Even More

February 18, 2007 at 8:46 am · Filed under About AGLOCO, AGLOCO Around the World

In my last post, I mentioned a few great comments Members had made. Here are a few more. Keep in mind that if I don’t get to yours, it’s because there are often too many good comments for me to say something about all of them.

Jim Martin said,
“As far as becoming an instant millionaire, that is certainly not why I joined. I understand this venture as a very forward looking and unique concept. Hopefully with time, patience and hard work agloco will become a great company that can afford to pay well.
Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

I found this inspiration to me as a part of the Management team. There are many ups and downs in a startup and sometimes it’s helpful to remember that “Rome wasn’t built in a day”. As Founding Members, keep this in mind. The network will grow. The Viewbar will arrive. The payouts will come. Right now we’re setting the foundation to make this Economic Network not only viable, but wildly successful.

GWT said,
“I have been involved as a founder in more than one start up and I agree that being a member of AGLOCO now is much like being a founder of a pre-launch company. Lots of problems — and lots of upside opportunity.”

We like to think that we give our Members an unprecedented look into the pre-launch decisions and activities of the company. When problems arise (as they do in any start-up), our Members see them. In most other companies, these issues have been ironed out for months or years before anyone has even heard of them. As for upside opportunity, there is a lot of money floating around the Internet, and we intend to claim it on our Members’ behalf.

Simon said,
“Hi Brian
Thank you for the regular updates they are appreciated. I wondered if Agloco has anything in place relating to rehabilitation of members … only I find myself totally addicted to it!!
I regularly wake in the night & have the overwhelming urge to check my stats. Does the Betty Ford clinic do treatment for this sort of thing I wonder? !%*!”

We on the management team have asked ourselves these same questions :)

Here is some information adapted from comments I put up regarding how your AGLOCO hours are accumulated:

AGLOCO Official said,
“As we mention on the website, we pay you for up to five hours of ‘active browsing’. That’s because when you are actively surfing the web, you are providing value for AGLOCO, and this is what AGLOCO pays you for. At present it will be defined as the Member 1) Having a browser as the active application on your screen and 2) Showing some activity. We set the monthly limit to five hours, low enough that we felt the vast majority of Internet users would have no difficultly reaching it. The Viewbar will become useful even when not actively surfing, but not very many of those features will be in version 1.0.

The reason for this is that, in order for AGLOCO to make sense economically, it needs to know that its Viewbar communications are going to people who are actively engaged with their ‘screen’ and the Internet. There is no ‘free lunch’ in the real economy and AGLOCO will not be the exception to this. In order to have money to distribute to Members, AGLOCO will need to have revenue coming in. The website gives a nice overview of this and I blogged about one channel of revenue “transactions” a couple of weeks ago.

So, things like chatting on a website, surfing the net, or playing an Internet game are almost always going to be time towards the five hours. VOIP is a bit different. You could use VOIP and not be engaged with your screen (and with remote Skype phones you might not even be in the same room). So VOIP by itself without some evidence that the Member is engaged with their screen would probably not qualify toward the five hours. After Viewbar 1.0 we will test how effective the Viewbar is when people are on IM and some other non-browser programs that connect to the Internet, and if it is effective we will add that as well. But because the total monthly hours is now set at only 5 we did not think it would be much of a burden to collect these hours using your browser.

It seems that we can do a better job of making this clear, so we will work to add the ‘active surfing’ definition in a more prevalent website location. Thanks for pointing out the potential area of confusion.”

Thanks again to our Members for continuing the great questions and comments!

Brian Greenwald

Becoming The Spider: Next Generation SEO Tactics

Becoming The Spider: Next Generation SEO Tactics
Copyright © 2007 Titus Hoskins

Just when you believed you had all your SEO tactics figured out, the web goes and changes on you. Not just the rules of the game but it takes the whole web platform right out from under your feet and changes it. What's a poor webmaster to do?

Web 2.0 changes the whole ballgame. It not only places the Internet user squarely in the middle of things, but it gives that user the means and power to create and manipulate data. Web 2.0 dramatically changes how we view and use the web. Actually, in many respects, it creates a whole new Internet.

What Is Web 2.0?

Just what exactly is Web 2.0? What does it mean? Is there a precise definition that all webmasters can get their heads around and understand? Not really, many believe Web 2.0 is just another one of those contrived buzzwords, signifying mostly marketing hype!

However, perhaps the simple definition can be found in the word "you"! Time magazine probably summed it up best by making reference to the "you" in user generated content. Web 2.0 is basically all the platforms that give us this brave new user-powered interactive Internet, generally referred to as 'social media'.

Web 2.0 can be seen or manifested in such sites as YouTube, MySpace, Del.icio.us, Digg, Squidoo... Web 2.0 uses scripting languages such as Python, Perl PHP, RSS... to construct interactive platforms that websites can use to create all this user-generated content.

Many refer to these evolving formats and scripting platforms under the name AJAX and no this does not refer to the popular cleaning agent under your kitchen sink! This AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) comes from Google and takes web based interactive programs such as Google Maps, something that's usually associated with desktop applications, but is now being applied on the web. If you have used Google Earth, you will realize how powerful and revolutionary these new applications can be, not to mention, they are a whole lot of fun.

Where Did The Name Web 2.0 Come From?

Many point to Tim O'Reilly, the constant innovator of many technological changes on the web. O'Reilly has been at the forefront in discussions and conferences on the nature and substance of the 'meme' open source platforms dominating the new social media.

How all this new media plays out is anyone's guess but all webmasters should optimize their sites for this new Web 2.0 and take full advantage of all the SEO possibilities presented by this brave new Internet.

Here are a few SEO suggestions you can try:

1. RSS/Blogging. You must place a blog and RSS feed on all your sites. This is a fairly simple procedure to do with free server-based programs such as Wordpress. Having a blog and RSS feed will place your site into the whole tagging process. Each category you create in your blog will be seen as a tag by such sites as Technorati. RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication' and your RSS feeds will get your content distributed across the web. A simple and easy way to tap into the new Web 2.0 universe.

2. Create some Google Juice! Join as many of these highly interactive sites as you can: MySpace, YouTube, Del.icio.us, Digg, Wikipedia ... my favorite is Squidoo, where you can create Lenses on different topics that interest you. User driven content that's utilized by all the major social media sites. Of course, link back to your sites in your posts and creations in these user-created content havens and watch your PR ratings go way up.

3. Use Interactive Scripts. Place interactive JavaScripts and platforms on your own sites. Have membership forums, polls, blogs, feedback forms, user-contributions... to build unique content driven sites. Become the spider!

4. Tagging (Folksonomy). Be constantly aware of the tags (keywords) you're creating with your blogs and sites. This can have a very beneficial effect on your traffic and rankings. Closely relate these tags to the content on your sites and build higher rankings in all the major search engines.

5. The Long Tail. Especially important for affiliate marketers, you need to cover special niches where there is less competition and content. These narrow niches make up a large portion of the whole vast web, creating content in these unique areas will get your site included in the search engines a lot quicker and keep them there a lot longer.

6. Holistic Web 2.0! Be constantly vigilant in placing your sites in the whole 'Interactive Game', building links and partnerships with the important YouHubs: MySpace, Del.icio.us, YouTube, Digg, Squidoo... the more connections you have, the more your own sites will prosper.

Be The Spider!

No doubt, Web 2.0 will play an ever increasing role in the development and evolution of the web. Make sure your sites are optimized and in the 'You' game. Create blogs, RSS feeds, interactive forums, membership areas, user-generated content and truly make your sites interactive havens in their own right. Just remember to tag everything and your sites will reap the benefits of this new Web 2.0 generated SEO gold rush.

Agloco Hype - Viewbar Recreation Of AllAdvantage

Agloco Hype - Viewbar Recreation Of AllAdvantage

Have You Seen Any Good Videos Lately?

Here's some highlights of the email from one of my marketing
friends and I had to tell you about what she's
working on. (No, this is NOT all about another
great product either! Just wait 'til you hear!)

About 2 months ago, she had organized a group of
newbie internet marketers and trained them in all
areas of running a promotion online.

She taught them everything from product creation
to her specialty, joint ventures.

That first product was really impressive ...
especially for a group of newbies.

But today she told me that the group has moved on
to their SECOND product and she claimed to be
blown away by what they had created.

You've gotta understand, it takes an awful lot to
blow me away, but since I respect this marketer,
I decided to check it out. It includes videos.

Reviews of the most reputable affiliate systems where you can find products worth promoting and which are monitored by a third party service that will make sure you receive your commissions.

Traffic exchanges and how you can use them to promote your business.

How to recognize pyramid schemes, matrix programs, binary systems, and other marketing programs you must avoid or risk losing your shirt while making someone else rich at your expense.

How to recognize internet scams, phishing attacks, and other con games.

Free resources you can consult to see if a company is legitimate.

How to protect yourself against internet credit card fraud and identity theft.

How to report a scam if you are victimized, and where to get help.

How to cut through the baloney and recognize business opportunity and investment hype, and internet scams.

How to properly use internet auctions and protect yourself from auction fraud.

How a web site can help you with your internet business.

Domain names and your web site.

What is web hosting and how to get your web site hosted.

Where you can get your web site hosted free, to help your get started.

Where you can get free templates and banners for building attractive web pages.

Where you can get free webmaster tools and widgets to make your web site more interesting.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But this is what really caught my attention.

I am donating all profits from our group's sales of this training program to charity to benefit the victims of the recent tornadoes in Florida, so you are not only helping yourself, but you are also helping your fellow man.

This comprehensive training program is being offered at a ridiculously low cost but only for a short time, to benefit the tornado victims. This is a special event and a limited time offer - if you come back later it may no longer be available.

SO I bought it myself, with private label resale rights, or PLR Master rights. You can put your own name on it, change the graphics, whatever you want.

You can get it now, and help the homeless and
suffering from the Florida tornado. Sweeet.

Almost forgot to mention, it goes up 5 cents every hour. What with covering everything from security, to setting up list servers and camtasia videos, and a lot more, you almost certainly know someone , probaly in your own family who will benefit from this. Might even make a downloadable instant 'Happy Valentine's Day' gift. So, get it now, and help the homeless and
suffering from the Florida tornado. Sweeeet.
It's going in my reference library, and will be partly printed for my trip to Georgia. I 'gotz' to get some peaches, and it will be great reading that way as well.
The PLR resale rights will be an optional add on . Just think of the million of people coming on line every week, looking for an opportunity, and no nothing about 'internets' or computers. And since this is so new, you'll be the very first ones getting this, if you opt to. It will be a one time offer (OTO) that will cost about a Pizza Hut large pizza, so don't sweat it.
Look, these resale rights use to cost hundreds of Yankee dollars years ago. Somebody, with some clout is passing a gift. Now it's your choice. Or you can continue to buy $5 dollar e book and make someone else rich, and still not have a clue. So, please hurry, and help the homeless and
suffering from the Florida tornado And yourself too. Sweeeeet. Thank you. Pass it forward.

How to Start Video Blogging?

How to Start Video Blogging?
by: Kanicen Nichathavan

Videoblogging is the next generation of posting ideas and products over the internet. Everybody knows about textblogging. Now they use videos for a better way of expression. This form of communication may entail a lot of resources, but it is all worth it. If pictures say a thousand words, videoblogging exceeds that by far.

A videoblog requires larger disk spaces on websites, a faster server, and a whole new set of programs to support it. Videoblogs can be fed through RSS. This is technology of syndicating your website to other RSS aggregators.

Videoblogging works with people on the internet expressing their selves. Now if you put this on a business prospective, you are up to a lot of benefits. Think of it as a powerful tool in making showing your prospective customers your line of products or your services. It’s just like showing a commercial all for free. And if you videoblog through RSS, then most probably you are getting your target market.

People like to see what they are going to buy. Some would like to see proof and be sure that they are getting their money’s worth before shelving their dimes on it. All of us know the influence of a thirty second commercial. The effect of videoblogging is similar to that. You show your product, people watch it. If they like it, they buy it. If you present it good enough, they’ll buy the product even if they don’t need it.

Now on the web, things are pretty much static, unlike in television in which all are moving. If you post something that is mobile, it would most likely catch attention. Now imaging your product parading in all it’s royalty through videoblog. You’ll get phone call orders in no time.

If your business is just starting up, you can create a videoblog right at your own home. All you need is your web camera, microphone, video software, and lights. For as long as you know how to use your camera, then you can create a videoblog.

Invest in a good web camera. The higher its resolution is the better the output. And you like to present your goods in the optimum way so get the best one possible. Make a short story, or just capture your goods in one go. Just make sure you are getting the best profile for each. Get those creativity juices flowing.

Lights are important in a production. Make sure you illuminate entirely the area you are going to use to create videoblog. The brighter the area, the crispier the images will be. You can also use lighting effects for added appeal to the presentation.

Should you require sounds for your videoblog, you need a microphone. Record you voice as a voice over for promoting the product and its benefit to consumers. Sounds are as important as videos on a videoblog. It is advisable to make your sound effects as enticing as the video.

Your video editing software can be any program. You need this to finalize your work. You can add sounds, delete some bad angles, or insert some still pictures in there too. Some programs are user-friendly and can be used even with zero knowledge on video editing. Even simple video editing programs should do the trick. Select your background carefully too. The light affects the presentation so make sure that the background and the light complements each other.

Videoblogging is a great tool but it also has it downside. It may slow down the computer so other may steer clear of it. Download time may also be time consuming especially if customer is still on a dial- up connection.

But don’t let those stop you. Let videoblogging be an alternative for you, though it is best to still keep the text and pictures present in your presentation to accommodate all possible viewers of your site.

Nowadays, the more creative you are in presenting your product to the market, they more you are likely to succeed. Videoblogging offers an interactive way of selling. You involve the customers. You instill in them the advantage of your goods. And at times, those are enough to make a sale.

Web Surfers revolt against "Pushy advertising"

word count: 533

Web Surfers Revolt Against "Pushy" Advertising

      - by Jim Edwards

(c) Jim Edwards - All Rights reserved
    http://www.thenetreporter.com
=====================================

As the Internet continues to populate with websites trying
to turn a buck, two drastically different schools of thought
have developed on how to advertise online - "Push" and
"Pull."

"Push" advertising involves the use of "in-your-face"
advertising tactics such as pop-up windows and direct email.
"Pull" advertising entails using search engines and posting
articles that literally "pull" interested consumers to a
website on their own terms.

As web surfers revolt against pushy advertising, site owners
who understand how to pull consumers to their sites will
come out the long-term winners.

"Push" advertising tactics worked in the past because they
had not reached a saturation point. Since not everyone used
pop-up windows, a site owner could use them without fear of
backlash. Now it seems pop-up windows hit consumers from
every angle and even multiple times from the same sites.

The cycle of events with online advertising always unfolds
the same way. Someone finds something new that works and
people immediately jump on the bandwagon. As a technique
saturates the 'Net and loses effectiveness, instead of
finding an alternative, site owners just do it more!

Result: instead of pop-up windows going away, many site
owners just run more pop-up's - more often!

Well, if recent developments indicate anything, they show
that consumers have said "enough" to pushy advertising.

AOL, infamous for their pop-up ads, has agreed to cut down
on the intrusions even though their earnings could use a
boost right now.

Major ISP (Internet Service Provider) Earthlink even offers
a "pop-up killer" feature on their new service.

Almost all email programs come with filters to fight
unsolicited email and many email add-on services have sprung
up to help consumers eliminate the unsolicited offers for
pornography, business opportunities, and promises of instant
riches.

This "anti-spam" sentiment has also caused an unintended
consequence for legitimate marketers. Many major newsletters
have found their emails blocked by spam filters intended to
stop unsolicited email. Through no fault of their own,
legitimate email marketers have found themselves casualties
of the war on spam.

The future of the Internet lies in "Pull" advertising driven
by consumer wants and needs.

The successful Internet companies of the future will invest
in search engine promotion and in providing valuable, on-
demand information consumers receive only when they ask for
it and want it. When a web surfer goes to their favorite
search engine and enters the keyword phrase "MP3 Player" or
"tax advice" that means they are receptive to information on
those subjects.

If they read an article about using vitamins to improve
health and click a link for more information, only then they
will they be truly receptive to a marketing message about
vitamins.

Consumers have taken back control of Internet!

Not with laws or more regulations, but simply by flexing the
muscles of their wallets. By pulling money away from
advertisers who annoy them and putting it with those who
meet their needs, the average web surfer has brought the
Internet powers to their knees and will continue to reshape
the Internet into an effective, consumer-driven
communications vehicle.

Any site owner who wants to have a thriving online business
and survive the next year had better take this fact to
heart!

It was beautiful here in Florida , so we went for a walk at Dunes beach park. Took the dog, and he loved it! I might some real interesting people, and am creating a buzz about, well watch the video. Click the little arrow in the center of the video player below!

The man is explaining some things about Agloco and he has a bit on an accent (from a western perspective) anyway. It's about three minutes long, so enjoy and prosper.
The lord has given a gift, so I will act on it. More on that tomorrow.
I'll be posting a great picture that was done in the studio of the little bugger.
I went out and bought some business cards and will be promoting locally, hand to hand the old fashion way. I am focused on being a leader being so early to catch the wave. I think there are a people starving for an opportunity to work from home, doing something they like and passing t forward.
==========================================================
Needed someone that knows Excel to do a small mailing. Other computer skills
are also good, no programming necessary. I know some html., and that is all I need for now . I actually prefer publishing and promoting and writing. It will be low pay, but you'll learn in the process. Perhaps even share in my new empire. If you are familiar with the Mozilla Firefox browser, especially their new ftp program add on ...
I'll make one of those buttons to join my network. Enough of my babble, the matrix is forming.
We have a saying here in Central Florida, beaches backyards and barbeques, or BBBQ8629. That helps me to remember as well.Write down that pass code, you may need it inside the AgloCo host server. The network is there awaiting.

Mountain climbing, Education

Prior outdoor experience is not a prerequisite for most NOLS courses. If you are in good shape, have a positive attitude, and want to learn wilderness skills in beautiful country, you will have the time of your life.
You Can Check out their education resources there.

I often wonder, how do people overcome obstacles that may seem insurmountable. Sometimes the best thing to do is to get some exercise . Anyway, check out the design , color, and smoothness of the template. The edu at the end stands for education . Most people know that. I'll be starting a newsletter soon, so I have some obstacles and time constraints as well as other off line work and responsibilities. Their is designing a web site, connecting to the host, assigning list servers. The big boys farm all their work out. The ninety-something percent of the rest of us need to do some work ourselves. That's an obstacle you can overcome. "Stay with me, "tomorrow will come." Live in today, and imagine the possibilites.
Family community overcoming obstacles insurmountable wilderness.

P.S. Looking for some people, ages 18 to infinity, to collaborate with in either writing this blog or some other projects.
